The test series between India and England has reached its 4th test. The first day, ended with England reaching 302/7 at Stumps, thanks to a brilliant century from Joe Root. Akash Deep turned into a hero for India and destroyed England’s top order. Before lunch, the spin of Ashwin and Jadeja helped India in leading. After lunch, England found themselves in difficulty but a strong partnership between Root and Foakes made the situation better. Siraj’s explosive performance helped in taking the wickets of Foakes and Hartley. Their partnership surpassed 100 runs.

Root and Foakes’s resistance:

With several unhappy expressions towards the close of that session and Rohit Sharma burning their final remaining review for an LBW decision against Foakes, Root and Foakes looked to have upset India by keeping the aggressive ‘Bazball’ style of batting on hold.

Dream debut of Akash Deep:

Earlier, after winning the toss and electing to bat, bowler Akash Deep had a fantastic Test debut, grabbing three wickets in his opening six overs and leaving England reeling. After collecting some wickets before lunch, Ravindra Jadeja and Ravichandran Ashwin took away England’s half-batting lineup. After Jasprit Bumrah was rested, Akash Deep took his position. Throughout the first portion of the practice, he was practically unplayable. In his second over, he managed to get Zak Crawley out, but it turned out that he had overstepped, allowing the batter a chance to survive. Shortly after, he grabbed the wickets of Ben Duckett and Ollie Pope before smashing Crawley’s off stump.

What is there in store for India:

The crucial fourth Test between India and England is being hosted in Ranchi. England’s hopes are high and to gain some satisfaction, the guests have to defeat India in this test. India who now lead the five-match series 2-1 don’t have to worry much. However, should England prevail, the series returns to a 2-2 draw and sets up a thrilling series decider in Dharamsala.

Jasprit Bumrah will be absent because he took a break to manage some workload. While KL Rahul is still recovering from his thigh injury which made his health bad in the first Test in Hyderabad. Sarfaraz Khan’s two fifties in his first Test in Rajkot have given India some hope. Another good news is, wicket-keeper Dhruv Jurel made his debut and scored 46. Due to the unavailability of Virat Kohli, KL Rahul, and Shreyas Iyer, India has been forced to give maiden jerseys to Rajat Patidar, Dhruv Jurel, and Sarfaraz Khan thus far. With the absence of Jasprit Bumrah, Akash Deep may also be given a chance.

Will England give a tough fight?

England has brought in seamer Ollie Robinson and spinner Shoaib Bashir in place of Mark Wood and Rehan Ahmed, after suffering a record-breaking 434-run loss in Rajkot. Questions concerning England’s too-aggressive strategy. This strategy has not helped them well. this recklessness has made them lose. After undergoing knee surgery in November of last year, England captain Ben Stokes is expected to bowl again in this match. He has dismissed the criticism. As he plans how to keep England in the series, the 32-year-old was more concerned with the condition of the Ranchi surface.
