Too many nominations await:
The film is entering the Academy Awards with eight nominations. The film is nominated for best picture. In addition to performing live during the event, Ryan Gosling is nominated for Best Supporting Actor and will be performing his song from the film “I’m Just Ken.” The song, “What Was I Made For?” is also up for nomination. Billie Eilish and Finneas O’Connell are set to perform the song on Sunday night. America Ferrara is also nominated for Production Design and Best Supporting Actress. Jacqueline Durran, Who won for costume designing for Little Women and Anna Karenina, is also nominated.

Is the sequel really happening?
The CEO of Warner Bros Motion Picture Group, Abdy told the BBC that the sequel might come. The director, Greta Gerwig always wanted a sequel. The director and executive Pam Abdy are planning to add another movie to Barbie’s unique world.
Abdy also mentioned how hurt they were after the omission from the Oscars. Both Margot Robbie and Gerwig were omitted from the Oscar nominations. Both were nominated for Best Lead Actress and Best Director respectively. She also called Gerwig a visionary and termed her as“one of the best filmmakers working today.”
The officials from the BBC also mentioned that Gerwig, said earlier this week that she is open to the idea of making a sequel. But only if she can find “an undertow” within the movie. An accurate script is important for her. The sequel should be better than the original movie.
