The film Bhimaa directed by Harsha is finally on screen and has led the internet to buzz with excitement and discussions about the movie. The film features Gopichand, Priya Bhavani Shankar, and Malavika Sharma as the lead. The viewers were excited to share their final thoughts on social media and took to X to express their opinions and reviews on the platform.
Story of the Movie
The Bhimaa movie has an interesting premise being the story of twin brothers Bhima and Ram who are in diametrically opposite dispositions. A life-altering incident in their childhood drives a line between them which leads them down to separate paths. Bhimaa embarked on a courageous journey to go on and become a police officer while his twin brother Rama led a life steeped in tradition as an orthodox priest who is also timid. Bhima’s assignment leads him to an enigmatic town in Mahendragiri which is revered as the chosen land in the mythology of Parasurama. It sets the movie story for a clash with Ravindra Verma who is a local ayurvedic practitioner with divine aspirations and Bhavani. As the narrative unfolds it is revealed whether Bhima can win over the evil presiding over Mahendragiri and the extent of Rama’s involvement in the epic battle.
Review of the Movie
The movie Bhimaa is an action-packed drama infused with mysticism and mythology. The film starts with a promising mythological exposition that introduces its audience to the land of Mahendragiri. The audience is introduced to the historical significance and mystical aura of the land. However, the script introduces conventional tropes like exaggerated heroism, superficial romance subplots as well as cheesy dialogues.
We can see Gopichand in a dual role playing the twin brothers Bhima and Rama and captivating the audience with his presence and appeal. Malvika Sharma is portraying a teacher and Ph.D. scholar, Vidhya, and has been confined to play the role of the lead Bhima’s sweetheart. Though she radiates charm and a commanding screen presence her character development lacks profundity. Pani played by Priya Bhavani Shankar also delivers a commendable performance in the limited screen time she has been given in the latter half of the film. The supporting cast of the movie also exudes good skills in managing to capture their characters’ essence. These cast members include Naresh, Nassar, and Vennela Kishore.
From a technical viewpoint, Bhimaa has an amazing production quality and a good evocative musical score by Ravi Basrur who is known for his work on KGF and Salaar. While the music is good and enhances the ambiance of the film the melodies of the songs tend to fade from memory post viewing which tells they are not really memorable.
Conclusion
In conclusion, the movie Bhimaa represents an outdated storytelling technique along with falling into the trap of old and outdated plots which has rendered its potential being undermined and providing the depth and innovation the audience wanted from its cinematic universe no matter its production value.
