In the era of global connectivity, working fast is a key factor in almost every major business that can be done online. Whether you are scraping the web for better decisions that can help expand your brand or engaging in more individualistic activities such as sneaker copping, you can’t afford to lose valuable time.

Automation software is widely used to save lots of time and do many repetitive tasks in an instant without putting in too much effort. But the sites are fighting back and trying to push these tools outside of their traffic.

Google captchas are one of the more advanced tools that are used to tell real users and bots apart and allow only the activity of the former while blocking the latter. Today, we are going to discuss how to avoid these captchas by using proxies and secure your work without interruptions.

What causes captchas?

Captchas are used to identify any non-human activity on the internet and send obstacles that would stop automated traffic. It makes clear that the main reason for them to occur is non-humanly looking activity in your traffic.

What makes the activity seem non-human? The main reasons are these:

  • Exceeding the number of requests allowed,
  • Constantly changing or maintaining a incredibly high pace of your activity,
  • Going through tons of pages per second,
  • Using bots.

A regular internet user can usually do a limited number of tasks at a time and is limited with speed. If you are doing stuff on the internet like any other internet user, you will not attract any attention. But if you exceed the number of requests that a server of a particular site allows, you will be on the radar that something is off with your traffic.

You can also attract attention with bizarre behavior such as blazing through the site or changing the pace of your work from slow to fast and back to slow in an instant. That seems odd and will raise suspicions.

If you are using bots, they will most likely do all these things and will distinguish your activity among many others as suspiciously unregular.

How is non-human activity tracked?

The next question to answer is how this non-human activity is being monitored. Only by knowing how your activity triggers these captchas, will you be able to avoid them.

Different internet users are discerned and identified by their IP addresses. The IP address contains lots of information about its user. For instance, the location of their device, who their Internet Service Provider (ISP) or what their hostname is.

All different actions that you make are counted under the same IP address. That’s how the number of sent requests can be recorded. If a singular IP address exceeds the limit, it instantly becomes the target of a check-up.

How proxies change your IP

Proxy is an intermediary server that routes your traffic instead of your ISP. When you connect to the internet, you are using your IP address to get access to target servers. After all, an IP address is used to communicate between different devices. Every request that you send is sent from your IP address.

When you are using a proxy server, it forwards your requests for you and returns responses to you. Your IP address works only for sending these requests to the proxy server. From there on, a proxy server uses its IP address to carry your requests where you want. Your target servers can only see the IP address of a proxy server. But they don’t know that it’s not your original IP address, so they assume that it’s your IP address.

In other words, each time that you send a request that has a different IP address than your original one and different than a previous IP address of a proxy when the endpoint gives you multiple of them, these requests will seem to be received as if they came from different internet users.

By doing all of that, a proxy disguises your identity and provides you with safe browsing that can be used without worrying about getting blocked.

How proxies let you avoid captchas

Proxies for captcha solving can be used to minimize the frequency of how often you receive these captchas. Of course, they work like any other proxy and are used to change your IP address. But captcha proxies are developed for avoiding captchas specifically.

When you are working with different IP addresses provided by proxies, your traffic is scattered under these different IP addresses. Therefore, they can’t be counted under a singular IP.

The same with your bots. They work with different IP addresses, and their abnormal activity that would be easily noticed can’t be spotted anymore because the different tasks are not counted in one bulk and are seen as done by different users with different IP addresses.

If there is no singular IP address that is responsible for these actions and they can’t be linked together and traced back to the original user, they can’t arouse suspicions.

With proxies, not only your requests won’t be counted so that they wouldn’t be identified as exceeding the limit of requests, but your activity will not be seen as changing its pace to faster or slower all the time.

It will also not be seen whether you are doing anything else bizarre, for bizarreness consists of an irregular behavior pattern that can be identified throughout an extended period.

If there is no such thing as an extended period for the same IP address, you are free to do as you wish without getting these captchas constantly. That will save you time and make you more efficient both on an individual level and on the business level, whichever is more important to you.

Concluding remarks

Your IP address is responsible for your identification. If the traffic under your IP address is abnormal, you will struggle with recurring captchas. Proxies mask your IP address and let you work with a multitude of different IPs, making your actions uncountable and untraceable. That lets you avoid most captchas.
