All of us here in Australia are affected by technology every single day of our lives and if it were all to stop tomorrow, we would find ourselves in many difficult situations. We take technology very much for granted and so when we travel up to the 25th floor of our apartment building in the lift, we don’t give it a second thought. When we accept a call on our smartphone from a far-off relative who lives in another country and we are able to see them and talk with them immediately, we never really think about it at all. It’s great that we have all of this technology in our lives and it leads to better transport options, better healthcare and we are able to do our jobs better.
Everything in this world is getting more technologically advanced every single year and it even includes the sex toys that we use in the privacy of our bedrooms every single day. These devices have been perfected so that they provide us with maximum stimulation which has made things in the bedroom a lot more exciting. It is fair to say that technology does impact our lives in a negative way but it depends on how you look at things and on your total outlook. On the whole, however, technology does benefit our lives in the following ways.
- We communicate better – This is beneficial for both our general day-to-day lives and our working lives as well. We can now call people and actually see them at the same time as well and this has brought many families closer together over the years. It rules out any ambiguity when it comes to business meetings and because we have such high-speed Internet, the amount of data that we can receive at any one time has gone up markedly over the years.
- Shopping is made easier – Due to the proliferation of online stores, we can now do our grocery shopping and anything else that we need online using our smartphones or other digital devices. If you wanted to, you would never have to visit a supermarket or clothes store again. From a business point of view, this has led to a massive increase in sales and reductions in costs and so this is a win-win situation for everyone involved.
- More access to information – Everything that we need to know is available to us 24 hours a day and seven days a week and it is constantly being updated. The days of going to the library to do research are long gone and so the availability of all of this information has made studying for a degree a lot easier than it used to be and it is perfect for business when we need answers fast.
As you can appreciate, technology benefits all of our lives in many positive ways every single day of the week. Many people are now able to work from home and this flexible working practice allows us to get that work-life balance that we have been looking for.
