As a business owner, it’s important to give back to the wider community. When you’re running a company of any size, you have the power to change lives. That is a lesson that CEO Chad Price passes down to his employees at MAKO Medical Laboratories. Since launching the leading testing laboratories back in 2014, he has dedicated himself to supporting the people and communities who need it. Within this article, we will take a look at five of the different ways that the MAKO team gives back to those around them.

1. The staff volunteers with nonprofits

Giving back to the local community has always been at the heart of the MAKO Medical Laboratories values. For that reason, CEO Chad Price encourages his team to volunteer whenever possible. The managerial department is dedicated to supporting the employees in any way they can when it comes to offering voluntary services. The company works with religious organizations and churches to give back to families who need it the most.

2. The team donates free medical services

Around one in 10 people in the U.S. don’t have access to medical services or health insurance. There’s a real gap when it comes to getting the healthcare that is needed in this country. While the team at MAKO Medical Laboratories are not in the position to solve that problem in its entirety, they can give back to the community. That is why CEO Chad Price and the MAKO Medical Laboratories team donates free medical services to people around the country. The move provides better access to those who would not otherwise have it.

3. Provides funding for nonprofits and charities

We cannot underestimate the hard work that nonprofits and charities do every single year. However, to keep these life-changing organizations going, it takes a wealth of funding. Often enough, nonprofits struggle to keep afloat, even with the donations that they receive. Chad Price, CEO of MAKO Medical Laboratories, is always looking for opportunities to help those less fortunate than himself. Pledging some of the business profits toward these organizations allows him to help support the wider community and share his wealth.

The charities that MAKO Medical Laboratories support are wide ranging. However, the team has a strong focus on local organizations in the region. Serving the community near the facilities means that the organizations have the opportunity to change lives entirely.

4. Hires U.S. military veterans across departments

The brave men and women who serve our country deserve respect when they retire. However, it is often hard for these individuals to find steady work when they leave the military service. The team at MAKO Medical Laboratories employ these talented workers within the logistics, supply chain and procurement teams. The initiative has allowed Adam Price to strengthen the growing team and support veterans in their future careers.

Since Adam Price has had experience in the forces himself, he understands the rigorous training that these men and women go through. “The military does a great job of putting you in positions and having you figure it out with minimal training,” Adam Price told GrepBeat in an interview about the subject of hiring veterans. “Just like some leadership roles I held in the military, being one of the founders I had a huge responsibility in the role of a project manager to help get our building ready to begin operations.”

5. Mikey the MAKO visits children in hospital

When children have to spend time in hospital, it can be a tumultuous time. Often enough, young people don’t understand why they have to be away from their homes for prolonged periods. While these kids have the support of the medical care teams and their families, sometimes all they need is a smile to bring some joy into the room. Fortunately, that’s where Mikey the MAKO comes into play. The shark mascot is the emblem of MAKO Medical Laboratories and is continuously making visits to children’s hospitals in the area.

It doesn’t end there. Mikey the MAKO also visits young people in youth centers, schools, and other community locations. Whenever the shark comes around, you can be sure that there will be plenty of laughs too. The mascot has become synonymous with the MAKO Medical Laboratories brand over the years. CEO Chad Price launched the initiative to help cheer up young people — and their families — when they are at their lowest points.

Conclusion

The MAKO Medical Laboratories team will always donate their time, energy, and finances to helping those less fortunate. Within this article, we have taken a look at some of the core ways that the employees and Chad Price do just that. Whether it’s volunteering with nonprofits, providing funding, or simply bringing a smile to someone’s face, the team has it covered.
