The 2024 Call of Duty League begins in December, following the release of Modern Warfare 3. The new COD seeks to revitalize the franchise for many, including professional players. Those professional players now have much to play for, with many Majors and qualifications scheduled as part of the CDL 2024 program.
CDL 2024 Schedule
Four majors have been declared for the CDL 2024 program. Each features an online qualification period, with the Major held on a LAN. The seasonal schedule is as follows:
- Major I Qualifiers: December 8 to January 21.
- Major I: January 26-28, hosted by Boston Breach.
- Major II Qualifiers: February 16 to March 17.
- Major II: March 21-24, hosted by Miami Heretics.
- Major III Qualifiers: April 12–May 12
- Major III: May 16-19, hosted by Toronto Ultra.
- Major IV Qualifiers: May 24–June 16
- Carolina Royal Ravens hosted Major IV from June 20 to June 23.
There is no confirmation of the CDL 2024 championship competition. Early sources indicated that the event will take place in Texas, but there is no official confirmation.
Qualifier updates and official game modes
The CDL 2024 schedule has been announced, and online qualifiers have been updated accordingly. First and foremost, CDL LAN events will yield more CDL points. Each online qualifier match is worth ten CDL points. Then come the sets of matches and the time for each qualifier:
Every team receives seven matches every set of qualifying
- Majors I and IV feature four weeks of qualification.
- Majors II and III have five weeks of qualifiers.
To no one’s surprise, we now have the official game modes for CDL 2024 on Modern Warfare 3. Teams will compete in three modes: Hardpoint, Search and Destroy, and Control. With new clubs and a stacked roster, Call of Duty’s season looks quite promising.

Game Modes
Outside of the Grand Finals, each CDL qualification and Major match series has two Hardpoint maps, two Search and Destroy maps, and a single Control map. Hardpoint is played on the first and fourth maps, Search and Destroy on the second and fifth maps, and Control on the third. Teams must win three of the five maps to win a series.
Hardpoint
Hardpoint is a respawn-based game mode. Each team has an unlimited number of lives to use while attempting to win. The goal of Hardpoint is to be the first team to reach 250 points or take the lead before time runs out.
CDL Season Format
The 2024 CDL season will feature four regular season Majors culminating in a World Championship. This new arrangement differs from the five regular season Majors seen in prior seasons. Qualifying for these majors will also differ. Qualifying for Majors I and IV will last four weeks, while Majors II and III will last five. Teams will now play seven matches in each qualifier, two more than the previous season. The qualifications will still determine the seeding for the Major they lead up to. The Major LAN weekends will follow the same format as the previous season.
CDL Points: Final words
CDL points are awarded to teams during qualification and major events. They decide each team’s standing during the season. The victorious team in each qualification match receives ten points. Majors will carry more weight this season in terms of CDL points.
The first-place squad will get 100 points, while the second-place team will get 75. The number of points awarded falls by 15 as you progress down the scoreboard from second to the teams tied for ninth place, who earn zero points.
