Snapchat is one of the most widely used social networking apps, which is well-known for its interactive streaks, disappearing messages, and entertaining Bitmoji features. But you might now aware of that Snapchat also offers a premium membership called Snapchat+ in addition to its free version. This paid version grants users early access to premium features. Along with this it also has  SNapchat Solar System Order, which shows your closest pals as planets circling you.

This article will explains everything about the Snapchat Solar System Order, how each planet is ranked, and how to see where you are in a friend’s Solar System.

    So, let’s get started;

What is the Snapchat Solar System Order?

A Snapchat+ feature called the Friend Solar System turns your list of best friends into a game. Think of your top eight friends as planets around you, and yourself as the Sun. Your relationship with that person is stronger the closer the planet is near you.

For example; Mercury stands for your best friend, with whom you have the most conversations and pictures. On the opposite end of the spectrum, Neptune, your eighth closest friend, interacts with you the least out of your top eight.

As your snapping and speaking behaviors change, so does this ranking, which is dynamic.

    Planet Order and Their Meaning

The Snapchat Solar System Order takes the same order as the actual solar system from Mercury to Neptune. Each planet corresponds to a particular position on your Best Friends list:

    1. Mercury: 1st Best Friend that means you have closest interaction with them, typically depicted by red hearts.
    2. Venus: 2nd Best Friend means you have close daily interaction, this will depicted with colorful hearts.
    3. Earth: 3rd Best Friend means you have a common snaps/chats, that often depicted with moon/stars/hearts.
    4. Mars: 4th Best Friend that are less than the above, it will show red planet with stars and hearts.
    5. Jupiter: 5th Best Friend who are casual but regular, you will know this by orange with stripes/stars.
    6. Saturn: 6th Best Friend with lighter communication, showed with ringed iconic planet.
    7. Uranus: 7th Best Friend with rare contact, that means green planet with less design.
    8. Neptun: 8th Best Friend means farthest of the top eight, you will see as a deep blue planet.

So, for example if you identify as Mars in a friend’s solar system, you’re their 4th best friend on Snapchat.

    How this Ranking Works

The Snapchat Solar System Order is not arbitrary. It’s algorithmic, which means it takes into account:

    • How frequently you send snap to each other
    • Chatting frequency and recency
    • Overall activity (stories, streaks, etc.)

Your ranking changes as your behavior does. For example, if you begin to chat with a friend more frequently, you may shift from Jupiter to Earth in their solar system.

Where to See this Solar System Badge

The feature is accessible only to Snapchat+ subscribers:

    • On a friend’s page, you’ll find a special badge Tapping on it displays where you are in their solar system.
    • Subscribers won’t be able to see the feature.

So, in order to use the Snapchat Solar System Order, you’ll have to switch to Snapchat+

How to Check Your Rank in a Friend’s Solar System

You can’t see the full Solar System order of other people, but you can check your own position in their system.

    • Open Snapchat and visit your friend’s profile.
    • Tap the Best Friends or Friends badge.
    • The badge will reveal which planet you are in their Solar System.
    • A Best Friends badge means you’re in each other’s Solar Systems.
    • A Friends badge means you’re in their Solar System, but they’re not in yours.

For example, if it shows Mars, you’re their 4th closest friend.

Why the Snapchat Solar System Order Matters

While the feature is meant to be fun and engaging, it isn’t a perfect reflection of your friendship outside Snapchat. It purely measures in-app interactions. Still, many users enjoy seeing where they rank and treat it as a playful way to visualize closeness.

    Final Thoughts

The Snapchat Solar System Order turns your Best Friends list into a colorful planetary system  making interactions on Snapchat more fun and visually exciting. From Mercury (1st place) to Neptune (8th place), your friendships get a unique cosmic twist that evolves with your snapping habits.

If you’re curious to see your own ranking or find out which planet you are in your friend’s Solar System, upgrading to Snapchat+ is the only way to unlock this feature.
