Shefali Jariwala, the face of Indian pop culture in the early 2000s, passed away on 27th June 2025 at the age of 42. Her sudden death due to cardiac arrest at her Mumbai residence has left her fans, friends and the film industry in shock.

So, in the night of June 27, 2025, Shefali Jariwala was discovered unconscious at her home in Andheri, Mumbai. Her husband, actor Parag Tyagi, and three others took her to Bellevue Multispecialty Hospital at about 11:15 pm. Unfortunately, though they moved in such a rush, the doctors told them that she was dead when she arrived. The hospital staff further told that Shefali had already died prior to reaching the hospital.

So the media was originally reporting that she had a cardiac arrest, but the authorities have not officially announced that yet. They took her body to Cooper Hospital for a postmortem, and the Mumbai Police and forensic officers went into investigation mode immediately, questioning the staff and searching the premises to discover what occurred in the last few hours of her life. No one knows anything as yet, and everyone’s waiting for the postmortem report.

Rise to Fame

Shefali Jariwala became an overnight sensation in 2002 with her performance in the Remix Music Video “Kanta Laga”.

She once said that coming into showbiz was a surprise —she was discovered by directors Radhika Rao and Vinay Sapru outside her college and after persuasion her family allowed her to join the project.

Career

After that she recorded some other hit music videos like “Sweet Honey Mix” and “Kabhi Aar Kabhi Paar Remix”.

She made her Bollywood debut in 2004. Her movie was “Mujhse Shaadi Karogi” featuring Salman Khan, Akshay Kumar and Priyanka Chopra. It was not a big role but she got to see herself on the big screen.

She also acted in 2011 in the Kannada film “Huduguru”.

Shefali’s TV career was also impressive. She participated with her husband Parag Tyagi in reality shows like “Nach Baliye 5” and “Nach Baliye 7” and was a favorite on “Bigg Boss 13” where her bubbly nature left everyone impressed.

She played the lead role in the web series “Baby Come Naa” with Shreyas Talpade in 2018.

Personal Life

Shefali was born on 15th December 1982 in Mumbai in a family that valued education. She did her Computer Applications degree from Sardar Patel College of Engineering.

In 2004 she married Harmeet Singh from the Meet Brothers but their marriage ended in separation in 2009. Love found her again when she started dating actor Parag Tyagi and after 4 years of dating, they got married in 2014.

Shefali was open about her health issues, bravely saying that she had been suffering from epilepsy since she was 15 and had been facing her challenges head on throughout her life.
