How to Make Homemade Soap?

Ingredients

 

  • Coconut oil – 300 ml
  • Olive oil – 300 ml
  • Palm oil – 300 ml
  • Lye – 150 ml
  • Water – 300 ml
  • Lavender fragnance oil –  tablespoons
  • Purple mica powder – 1 teaspoon

 

Supplies

 

  • Measuring scale
  • Measuring spoons

  • Silicone moulds
  • Stick blender

 

Directions

 

  1. Take separate bowls for water and lye in the measured quantity of 300 ml of water and 150 ml of lye. Now slowly add the lye to the water and stir properly to mix. This will lead to increased temperature of the mix. Wear safety gloves, mask, and eye protection.
  2. Again take a bowl and add 300 ml of each coconut, olive, and palm oil. Either use the microwave or a saucepan to melt the oils. Once everything has melted and combined together. Keep it aside to cool down.
  3. Let the temperature of both solutions reach between 110 to 120 degrees.
  4. Now add the measured quantity of purple mica powder and lavender essential oil into the oil mix and stir.
  5. Add the oils mix to the lye solution. Keep blending with the stick blender until a teacher consistency is reached. 
  6. Take the silicone soap moulds and add the soap mix to the mould. Let it sit for about 24 hours in a well-ventilated area. 
  7. Remove the soap from the moulds and again let them sit for about 3 weeks to cure properly.
