Deepika made her Hollywood debut in xXx: Return of Xander Cage in 2017. Since then, she has been recognized internationally through Cannes and Met Gala appearances.
Her performances in Bollywood blockbusters such as Padmaavat and Kalki 2898 AD portray her range.
Hollywood Walk of Fame recognition is for her work in both Bollywood and world cinema, according to The Economic Times.
Selection Process and Importance
The title was picked from among hundreds of suggestions. The selection committee, headed by ex-Warner Bros. CEO Peter Roth, declared 35 awardees for 2026.
Deepika is the lone Indian in the Motion Pictures category. The achievement underscores the expanding worldwide clout of Indian actors.
The star’s installation, which costs approximately Rs 73 lakh, includes making and upkeep, according to News18.
A Prestigious but Costly Honor
Getting a star comes at a high cost. The $30,000 (about Rs 73 lakh) fee pays for the creation and maintenance of the star.
It is unknown whether Deepika or a sponsor paid the fee. Even though there have been controversies regarding the honor being exclusive, with more than 2,700 stars on Hollywood Boulevard, Deepika’s feat is India’s moment of glory.
