Blackjack: What You Need to Know

Blackjack is one of the most popular games in the world, especially when it comes to casinos. Most people are fully aware that online casinos nowadays feature games like blackjack, baccarat, and more. However, with online casinos brining in new fans every day, there are some basic aspects of the game, that many may not be aware of. In this article, we are going to share blackjack tips, facts, and basics that any player needs to know.

Blackjack Live

The success of blackjack online can largely be attributed to a relatively new addition to online casinos. We are, of course, talking about live gambling. By using live streaming technology, online casinos have managed to reproduce the land-based blackjack experience. The live blackjack feature is one of the most popular additions to online casinos, but how exactly does it work?

It is very simple; a living, human dealer broadcasts themselves live. During the stream, they deal cards on a table in front of them, equal to the number of players who are participating from a text/voice chat. The players can then make decisions based on the cards dealt, and interact with the dealer, and even each other. The game then becomes an experience similar to in-person, land-based blackjack.

Knowing When to Hit

The important thing is to understand the rules of the game and how it works. Blackjack is a banking game, based around reaching the number 21, or getting as close to it as possible. However, exceeding that number means an automatic loss. In order to accumulate more cards, a player must “hit.” However, if the player believes that they are too close to 21, then it is time to hold.

But, when do you hit, and when do you hold? That is a relatively hard decision to come by, especially if you are new to the game. There aren’t any hard and fast rules, but gamblers over the years have come up with certain guidelines. Generally speaking, if your hand is 17 or higher, then you should stand. If it is lower than 13, then hit. And if it is between 13 and 16, the decision depends on the dealer’s hand.

Blackjack Betting Strategy

Blackjack is a relatively old game. Over the centuries that it has been around, players have been formulating strategies and tactics to help them win. However, nobody can account for the element of luck. Blackjack is still primarily luck-based, so formulating a “winning” strategy is not always viable. However, a betting strategy is quite useful.

For those who don’t know, a betting strategy surrounds the act of placing a wager itself. For example, the Fibonacci strategy is based on a mathematical sequence, that encourages players to wager progressively higher amounts, in order to, hopefully, get the money back on a win. Progressive betting strategies are some of the most popular options when it comes to gambling.

The truth is, managing your bankroll in general is a pretty useful tip. You wouldn’t think it, but money management is one of the most important skills that a gambler can have. Knowing how much money to bring to the casino, how much to wager and when, and how much to win or lose before you walk away is a useful skill.
