AFC Asian Cup: Syria Beats India By 1-0 and Advances To Asian Cup Knockout

AFC Asian Cup Highlights between Syria and India: India got off to a strong start in the encounter, but Syria took control of the second half as the exhilarating first half ended goalless. The crucial Sandesh Jhingan sustained an injury in the first half and was replaced by Nikhil Poojary, which was a worrying sign for India. Both teams came close to scoring at different times in the second half, which was nearly as chaotic as the first. But in the 76th minute, Syria’s Omar Khrbin, a replacement, broke the scoreless draw. Even though India attacked right up to the very end of the game, they ultimately lost 1-0. It meant that without netting a goal or earning a point, India was eliminated from the Asian Cup of 2023.

Highlights:

AFC Asian Cup Live Score between India and Syria: The Syrian players beg the referee to blow the whistle rather than give them a goal kick. For a nation that has had so very little to celebrate over the past ten or more years, their bench pouring onto the field is a historic occasion. India may hold their heads high as they leave the field. They continued to threaten till the very end of the game; the only thing that was truly lacking was the finishing play, which tends to be a problem that India is unable to solve. India has no goals or points at the end of the competition, which does not reflect well on them.

It hasn’t been for want of trying, either. Everyone was aware that they were dealing with a formidable bunch, so it is a credit to them that they were able to force Australia to work toward their objective and keep Syria on edge all the way to the finish. The intermission game against Uzbekistan is definitely one to forget. India ended up with a mixed bag, but one that should serve them well in the World Cup qualifiers later this year, which Stimac stated is their true objective. Thank you for joining us, and that’s all from us too!

After 70 minutes: Syria-0 India-0

Following a corner kick by Syria, a nice through pass reaches India’s forward Sahal. Two defenders are advancing from behind him, and even though Chhangte is free on his right, the ball is smothered from him. Stimac did state that they wished to see what would happen if they could extend this contest for at least the final 30 minutes. It’s now down to the final twenty minutes of the game.

Syria’s Goal:

The Syrians are a cock-a-hoop! They may have just guaranteed their spot in the AFC Asian Cup knockout round for the first time ever. That is an excellent goal on Omar Khrbin’s part. Hesar retreats from the left, Khrbin tricks Poojary before firing a rasping shot at the near post, and Sandhu is powerless to stop it.

India vs. Syria: Syria advanced to the Asian Cup knockout stages for the first time with a goal in the final fifteen minutes of regular time.
