iPhone WhatsApp users can soon switch between multiple accounts on one device, according to WABetaInfo.
In the current beta testing (version 25.19.10.74), the update removes the need to log out or open separate apps like WhatsApp Business. This will make managing personal and business profiles much easier.
This feature has been available on Android since October 2023 and is a long requested feature by iPhone users.
With eSIM technology allowing multiple phone numbers on a device like the iPhone XR and newer, this is a timely and useful update.
How iPhone WhatsApp Multi-Account Works
The multi-account feature will be available in WhatsApp settings under the new “Account List” section, a central hub to manage all registered accounts.
You can add a second account by creating a new phone number or by adding an existing one through QR code.
Each account will have its own chat history, settings and notifications so it’s personalized.
Notifications are also smarter. When you receive a message, the notification will show the sender’s name and account so you can just tap and jump to the associated chat. No more confusion for users with multiple profiles.
Benefits for Personal and Professional Life
For iPhone WhatsApp users, this means you can manage multiple accounts for work and personal life.
Professionals, freelancers and users with international phone numbers can switch between accounts without needing to own two devices.
The update brings WhatsApp iOS features in line with Android, creating one consistent experience across Meta’s messaging platform.
With eSIM technology that can hold up to 8 SIMs on compatible iPhones, this feature is most useful.
You can activate and manage multiple numbers alongside corresponding WhatsApp accounts in one app, saving storage space and reducing dependency
