Why be an ordinary craftsman when you can be legendary?
Legendary items are exactly what their name suggests. They are legendary and above all else. With various items that you can hold onto and use in your journey through Azeroth, it only makes sense to want to have the best. After all, you can’t very well perform at your best form if you’re wielding mediocre items.
To say that the task of unlocking legendary crafting is not easy would be an understatement. In fact, it’s downright daunting as you’ll need to undertake quite a few quests on top of locating the Runecarver in the Maw. But while you’ll practically need to go through the eye of a needle, it will all be worth it in the end.
Here’s everything you need to know about unlocking legendary crafting.
First Things First
You’ll need to face off against The Jailer in order to access the legendary crafting ability. This happens at the endgame of Shadowlands. Additionally, you’ll need to reach the max level cap (currently at 60) and join a Covenant to unlock legendary crafting. Why would you put yourself through such an ordeal, you ask? Well, for one, it allows you to take any base item and give it a boost to amplify its power. These items include various armors and accessories.
Items are ranked by quality ranging from poor, common, uncommon, rare, epic, and legendary. It goes without saying that legendary items have are the most powerful and thereby most expensive. You may earn a pretty penny by selling them so you won’t have to buy WoW gold just to augment your finances. With the dawning of Shadowlands, players now have the ability to craft legendary items instead of just praying to the heavens for them to drop as loot.
Completing the Quests
Before you can even begin to think about crafting legendary items, you’ll first need to undertake the first chapter of the Covenant campaign. You’ll have to collect about 1,000 anima, go through the Souldbinds tutorial, go all the way back to Oribos, and talk to Bolvar. You will then be sent back to The Maw for the second part of the Covenant.
In the next phase, you’ll come into the acquaintance of Ve’nari from whom you’ll be able to purchase certain upgrades through Stygia. You will be then tasked to rescue Lost Souls—something you can do weekly henceforth to earn more Renown. After finishing Ve’nari’s quests, you may then proceed to Torghast where you can find the Runecarver’s chamber. It is after speaking to Runecarver and undertaking a few more quests that you will finally be able to earn the ability to craft legendary items.
Becoming Legendary
Runecarver will still give you quests but they will be optional. But at this point, you will notice that different legendaries are available. As most legendaries have a prerequisite of legendary components, it’s a must that you gather as much of them as you can with the same fervor you would have for acquiring cheap WoW gold. However, players may later on bring higher-tier items and more Soul Upgrades in exchange for upgrades.
As you can see, the road to unlocking legendary crafting is a bit long and winding. And though it may seem daunting at first, rest assured that the rewards you’ll reap in the end make it all worthwhile. Besides, the struggle is what gives the journey its value in the end. A word of warning, though. This campaign will take much of your time and even more commitment. It’s wholly up to you whether you want to do this in one long marathon or spread the quest over a few days. Either way, you’re sure to have one memorable experience doing so.
