They’ll spook the living daylights out of you!
World of Warcraft offers players a wondrous world filled with lush landscapes and naturally cascading beauty. Just beyond every crevice of the Azeroth lie awe-inspiring sights to behold with spine-tingling adventures just waiting to be embarked upon for bountiful loot in the form of WoW Classic gold.
Be that as it may, not everything in World of Warcraft is as wonderful as seen by the naked eye. Lurking in Azeroth’s shadows is danger in the form of beasts, ghouls, and all manner of creepy crawlies. Not only that, some places are so downright spooky that they can induce nightmares to the unwary traveler. And it’s those creepy things that we’ll be tackling here!
Without further ado, here’s a look at the creepiest things you will ever see in the otherwise delightfully wonderful world of WoW.
Undercity Test Subjects
Undercity holds many secrets. One of which, and perhaps the most notorious, are the test subjects it holds. One experiment stands head and shoulders above the rest, though, and that is Theresa (a mindslave). She wanders the outer perimeter of Undercity. She sticks out like a sore thumb because unlike most of the beasts to be found there, she is actually human—with a blindfold on! The fact that Theresa was lobotomized to be Gerard’s Undercity errand girl makes her sightings too creepy for us!
Frog Island Secrets
As if frogs weren’t creepy enough, imagine a whole island of them! There;s really nothing special about this island. In fact you’d be hard-pressed to find any vital NPC or quest here because there is none! What’s most noticeable about this island, though, is that you’ll find ominous signs strewn about its coast. These signs are of an upside down frog. Now it’s easy to assume that this island is the perfect place to go critter-killing if you’re gunning for the Critter Kill Squad achievement. Wrong! If you happen to kill one frog too many, Cro’akan, the island’s Boss, will spawn and deliver swift Frog Justice upon you.
Hidden Stories of Gadgetzan
What’s creepier than that which you can see? Answer: What you can’t see! Prominently seen across the deserts of Tanaris are mysterious tracks. Now, nothing’s really spooky about tracks in the desert, but what makes these tracks particularly scary is the fact that if you follow them, you will ultimately arrive at the death scene of whoever imprinted those tracks. You’ll need to conjure up a bit of your skills of your investigative skills to deduce what happened, but with the evidence you come across is rather clear cut. You just need a little bit of conjecture, and there in lies the creepiness of it all!
Eyes of the Darkshire
Ever get the feeling you’re being watched? Creepy isn’t it? Well, if you wander over to the Tirisfal glades,, that’s exactly what awaits you. While you won’t really be in imminent danger, the ambiance these eyes create is enough to send tingles up and down your spine. You’ll notice these yellow eyes obstinately fixated upon you from the bushes once you walk along the path. Upon closer investigation though, you’ll soon see that there’s really nothing there. Again, not dangerous but utterly creepy!
Karazan Krypts
This crypt located in Karazan is a rather well-known spot among the WoW faithful. Ask any WoW veteran and you’re sure to see them repress a shrill scream of horror. A bit of an exaggeration but you get our point. Crypts are always scary and this one is no exception. It’s filled with bones and all sorts of spooky contraptions to frighten any warrior.
World of Warcraft is filled to the brim with adventures galore. Every now and then, though, you will encounter a character or a place that will give you the heebie-jeebies! But as long as you get a grip and not lose your cool, even the creepiest of sights won’t deter you. Halloween may be over, but that doesn’t mean you can’t indulge in a little spookfest right now.
